I’ve been blogging for both much longer, and much less, than I’ve been writing web content. I started my first website back in 1997 on the old Angelfire platform when everything had to be hand coded. Icons and buttons were a “the more the merrier” affair and pages were often lists of links to friend’s pages which were lists of links back to you. I started a personal blog on Livejournal before I was married – making me an official NON-mommy-blogger. Then after my son was born I started writing articles in order to make enough pocket change to keep my baby out of daycare and not sacrifice my pizza nights. I’ve far surpassed that goal by now and work to teach others how to do the same.
Angela’s Network of Blogs
I write, edit and blog in several different places as my life has developed and grown. See the freelance writing page for details on her web content production and writing. When I moved beyond personal blogging to keep in touch with friends and family I began contributing to collaborative blogs like Type-A-Parent.
Untrained Housewife – I started Untrained Housewife to help other women recapture the lost knowledge of generations past – we used to be taught how to manage a home but it’s not something we learn anymore. Incredible, savvy women feel defeated by their laundry piles and broom closets. Untrained Housewife’s mission is to help bring this knowledge together in a place free of judgement where those who know, can help those who are still learning.
AngEngland.com – This site will help teach others how to duplicate some of the writing and blogging successes I’ve had. I’ll also point out how to avoid some of the pitfalls I’ve made. And how to jump right into things I wish I had done much sooner.
In 2011 I will be launching a few new sites on the renaissance theme – one called The Birth Renaissance dedicated to empowering women in matters of pregnancy, childbirth and newborn health. Another called The Journal Renaissance which will have daily journal prompts as well as how-to-make journals, art journal information and more.
Live Events – Come and see me in 2011 at Blissdom Conference, SOBcon, and TypeAParent Conference.
